Codata Factsheet | Angers (city centre)
Each month, Codata selects a city centre that has been recently studied by our team of data-collectors in order to share the latest trends observed on site.
Last September, our team of data-collectors conducted the annual census of the city centre of Angers. The cluster encompasses two commercial sites totalling 841 locations, of which 699 are occupied by shops.

- Shopping streets
- Fleur d’Eau (shopping centre)
Commercial vacancy rate has decreased: the proportion of empty retail locations went from 6.7% to 6.2% from 2023 to 2024.
In terms of distribution, the activity “Cafés-Hotels-Restaurants” remains at the top of the ranking of sectors with the highest occupancy rates with a 22.5% occupancy rate (i.e. 157 locations).
Second place goes to the “Clothing” activity with a 16.9% occupation rate (i.e. 118 shops). Finally, the activity “Services” closes the ranking with a 14.0% occupation rate (i.e. 98 shops).
The proportion of retailers has increased: 38.5% in 2023 compared with 38.8% in 2024.
