Codata Factsheet | Amiens (city centre)

Each month, Codata selects a city centre that has been recently studied by our team of data-collectors in order to share the latest trends observed on site.

Last October, our team of data-collectors conducted the annual census of the city centre of Amiens. The cluster encompasses four commercial sites totalling 909 locations, of which 708 are occupied by shops.

Commercial sites included in the city centre of Amiens:

  • Shopping streets
  • Amiens 2 (shopping centre)
  • Gare d’Amiens (train station)
  • Les Halles du Beffroi (shopping centre)

Commercial vacancy rate has increased: the proportion of empty retail locations in the city centre went from 11% to 12,3% from 2023 to 2024.

The ‘Café-Hotel-Restaurant’ category remains in first place among the sectors with the highest occupancy rates in the city centre. The occupancy rate is 23.6% (167 establishments).

Despite a decrease in the number of locations occupied, the ‘Services’ sector, with 17.5% occupancy (i.e. 124 locations occupied), is in second place. ‘Perfumes-Beauty-Body care’ is in third place, with 16.4% occupancy (116 shops).

The percentage of shops occupied by retailers remains stable: 39.2% in 2023 vs. 39.1% in 2024.
