Codata Factsheet | Orléans city centre
Each month, Codata selects a city centre that has been recently studied by our team of data-collectors in order to share the latest trends observed on site.
Last September, our team of data-collectors went to Orléans to conduct its annual field census. The city centre of Orléans includes 873 locations of which 744 are shops.

- Halles Châtelet (shopping centre)
- Place d’Arc Centre Commercial (shopping centre)
From 2022 to 2023, the proportion of empty locations in Orléans went from 6.8% to 7.2% (i.e. a 0.4 pp raise).
In terms of activities distribution, the three most-represented activity in the city centre remain the same as last year.
“Services” still rank first in the top 3 with a retail occupancy of 19.6%. On the other hand, the “Clothing” sector (18.1% retail occupancy) has finally been overtaken by the “Café-Hotel-Restaurant” activity (18.3% retail occupancy).
Unlike last year, when it rose by 0.1 points, the proportion of retailers is decreasing: 46.3% in 2022 compared with 45.2% in 2023 (a drop of 1.1 points).
