Codata Factsheet | Grenoble city centre

Each month, Codata selects a city centre that has been recently studied by our team of data-collectors in order to share the latest trends observed on site.

Last March, our team travelled to Grenoble to conduct the census of the 1,294 locations (including 1,079 shops) situated in the city centre. The city centre includes three commercial sites:

  • Shopping streets
  • “La Caserne de Bonne”, shopping centre (Au Vieux Campeur, Monoprix, Decathlon)
  • “La Galerie Casino K’store”, shopping centre (Casino Supemarché)

Out of the 1,079 shops located in the city centre, 35.2 % are occupied by Retailers. In comparison with the rate of 36.0 % in 2022, it is a diminution.

The vacancy rate is on the rise again going up from 9.8 % in 2022 to 11.8 % in 2023.
